My IQF Bee Block Quilt

I love this quilt! Two reasons: it's for my daughter and it's made by my bee ladies. Love the fact that all of you cut and pieced a block for my little girl - it makes this project so special.

Our guild had an exhibit for the IQF show in Cincy this past weekend. The theme was "A Modern Spin on the Ohio Star". While not technically an Ohio Star, this star block was my spin: it's liberated and wonky, made by members of an online quilting bee and it's an unusual color pairing....all very modern elements.

And to get to represent all of you, my daughter and my CincyMQG with this quilt is, well, the bee's knees.

Thank you!

  1. Wowee. What a great-looking quilt! I'm glad to have been a very small part of it, however I managed to mix up the block I sewed. It's nice to see this finished.

I hope I can do the same with the blocks everyone made for me, though it won't be for at least a couple months. We've just sold our house and will be moving in less than two weeks! And we don't yet have a house to move into. Please do stop by my blog and see my post about it. Exciting stuff for us.

  2. Andie, this quilt is so cool, you're right black and blue is an unusual combo for a quilt, but WOW, it works!

Thanks for posting, Just a reminder to the rest of you--PLEASE post your finishes even if it takes a while!
