May Geese for Amy

What? It's totally still May, right?

This block was both fun and a challenge for me. Fun, because I am on a wicked solid kick right now, so it was really fun to play with the color like that. A challenge, because Flying Geese units and I have a tricky history. I don't know why I struggle so much with them, they seem so straightforward. But for some reason I just have a hard time with them. But I tried my very best, and I think it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself!

May Block for Amy

I added the aqua for half of the background, as well as a couple other colors for the triangles. (Forgive the so-so lighting, but the nice, natural daylight was all gone by the time I finished sewing, so this was harsh kitchen light.)

Amy, I hope you like it and it works well in your finished quilt (which I CANNOT wait to see!). I will put it in the mail tomorrow.

thanks!!!

thank you, thank you, thank you everyone!!! i just LOVE my new quilt!!!!
the back and the binding was a perfect find and match!! thanks again!!!!!

Almost Amy's block....

What's missing here? Eeek, it's my machine!

It started misbehaving and skipped stitches all over the place. I've been having issues with that one and off for a while, but now it won't even sew two pieces together without missing a stitch! So into the shop it went today. I'm crossing my fingers that it only needs a tune-up and timing adjusted.

So close on your block, Amy! As soon as that machine returns I can finish the last row.

Fun With Geese

Here's your block, Amy. It always amazes me how versatile geese can be...how many shapes and secondary designs can be created with them. I had fun experimenting! I sent the extra geese back with the block. I hope this was what you were looking for. Excuse the colors in the photo...late night photography never goes well.

The last of April's blocks?

Just a tad late - so sorry Jacquie!

I knew they would be fun and easy, so I wasn't worried about starting them the day I got your package. Then, suddenly the month was gone!

My stylist came out to help and said they they should be set up more like an x. He also showed how they should overlap a tad. Good thing he's helping out.

Geese in May

Hi everyone! Some of you have received the fabrics for my blocks for May. Hopefully, they'll all arrive safe and sound. It was such fun cutting and packing up the squares. I hope you don't mind making some geese. As I mentioned in my note, I am completely open to any type of 12 1/2" geese block you'd like to make or you can stick to the pattern I included.

In the pic above, I was just playing around with geese, I would like a 12 1/2" square...

Thanks in advance!!
Amy

Seeing Red (and pink, and gold....)

Finished three Red Cross blocks for Jacquie on Sunday (I'm trying my best to do all my Bee blocks in the month assigned...I missed by two days!). These ARE easy to make, and somewhat addictive....
I think her quilt is going to be fabulous! Added a few of my own reds (my favorite cherry print, for one). Terrible photos, but awesome reds!
And I finished just in time, Amy's fabrics came on Monday....can't wait to dig in!
