Victoria's Block

I needed to make this block the day I received the fabric so it didn't end up getting done sometime this summer. Totally out of my comfort zone...it was a bit like sewing blind not knowing the size of the block or the units, but I went with it. Had fun chain piecing all the little geese! Sorry about the picture...the weather never cooperates.

Seriously Wonky

Thought I better get Heather's done before the next batch of fabric arrives. Loved making this log cabin. Hope you like it Heather, it's seriously wonky!

I added that white and the solid brown - looking over the blocks so far, if you say I can add other stuff it will most likely include white. Fair warning.

march envelopes

Hi ladies!

March is fast approaching!

Today marks my count down of the last 40 days of my thirties!~
Time flies when your having fun!

They keep getting better! So, this block, is my gift to myself...

It is so not a block I would normally make for myself, although I adore it, so I am asking you all to help me achieve this goal/gift to myself.

packets are going out today.

Yes, it looks complicated, BUT,
I have included all the pieces pre-cut for you. I just need assembly.

I drew out the steps and it is included in your envelopes.

basically, each block will have RED for the 9 patch with a filler color...

the next row, in you packet, will contain either green /yellow squares and bars...

A bunch of pieces for the flying geese, Pink/peach/salmon colors plus all the varied colors
I've included extras in case of error...
so if you find you have more than you need, that's why...

then everyone will have Green to anchor those corners...with the flying geese...

Shall I do a photo step by step on assembly?
I can do that..
Please let me know...

Thanks ladies!!

January - All Blocks Are In!

.
Oh, my goodness!  All 11 blocks have arrived!  What do I do now?
.
Here are all the lovely January blocks that have arrived in the mail over the last six weeks.  This mosaic is one way to look at them all quilted together.  The blocks are in alphabetical order by name.  Alas, the hard work has come for me.  I was going to sash in the green, but now I'm not so sure.  With the yellows and some of the green in the corner blocks, I'm thinking I need more of a contrast.  Any ideas?  Anyone up for a roadtrip to South Carolina?  I have a private apartment downstairs available .....

Liz: February

Me, again!

Finished Heather's block last night. I love a good wonky log cabin! Heather, these colors are really lovely. I can't wait to see the finished quilt!

February Block for Heather

I used a fair amount of my own fabrics, I hope you don't mind. I think they go pretty well with the color scheme.

Of course, as I was squaring it up and was so sure it was big enough, the angles did me in. I had to add a teensy extra strip of brown, but now it's up to size. Hope it doesn't make for bothersome seams!

It will head out in the mail today or tomorrow. Enjoy!
