January - All Blocks Are In!

.
Oh, my goodness!  All 11 blocks have arrived!  What do I do now?
.
Here are all the lovely January blocks that have arrived in the mail over the last six weeks.  This mosaic is one way to look at them all quilted together.  The blocks are in alphabetical order by name.  Alas, the hard work has come for me.  I was going to sash in the green, but now I'm not so sure.  With the yellows and some of the green in the corner blocks, I'm thinking I need more of a contrast.  Any ideas?  Anyone up for a roadtrip to South Carolina?  I have a private apartment downstairs available .....

  1. Hmmm, for contrast I would go with a brown sash. But only a thin one, then a larger sash of the green if you want or light blue or white. That would make it brighter overall.

  3. as long as it's not snowing...i'm on my way! when i first saw the blocks i thought chocolate brown too...though a natural linen/cotton blend might be really subtle and pretty too.

  4. It's not snowing in my part of the SC Midlands! Come on, Jacquie. Victoria -- Trade? You come here for a bit, and let me come visit NYC for a bit? I think I'll have to put up a flannel wall like you gals have so I can audition the looks. I like the chocolate brown sashing idea and Jacquie suggested some clustering and negative space. -- michele

  6. Hey, gals, count me in on the Southern Retreat! Sounds good after yet another Iowa snowstorm this week!

I agree with Angela, a dark brown (or even a reddish) sashing, but narrow...

    Great quilt already, Michele!
